Empower awarded a contract for the construction of a new district cooling plant in Dubai’s Al Sufouh 2 area with a cooling capacity of 23,400 refrigeration tons (RT).
Construction has commenced on the facility, with project completion expected in the third quarter of 2027.
The plant will serve mixed-use developments, including the "Innovation Hub" landmark, residential complexes, hotels, and educational facilities.
The project incorporates sustainable technologies including thermal energy storage (TES) and the use of treated sewage effluent (TSE) to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.
